Remembering WrestleMania 01

The entertainment of the wrestling has changed after when WrestleMania was invented. The first ever WrestleMania was born on 31^st March 1985 at Madison Square Garden in New York. In this WrestleMania King Kong Bundy set a record by defeating Special Delivery John in nine seconds. The commentators of this WrestleMania was Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse Ventura. Jack Lutz, Dick Kroll, Joy Marella and Pat Patterson joined as referees.

• Tito Santana defeated The Executioner in a non title singles match.

 

• King Kong Bundy defeated Special Delivery John in a non title singles match.

• Ricky Steamboat defeated Matt Borne in a singles match.

• David Sammartino with Bruno Sammartino  fought Brutus Beefcake with Johnny Valiant to a double disqualification match.

• Junkyard defeated Greg Valentine and became The Intercontinental Champion.

• Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik defeated Mike Routundo and Barry Windham (The U.S Express) and became the WWF Tag team Champions.

• Andre the Giant defeated Big John Studd in  $15,000 Body Slam Challenge.

• Wendi  Richter defeated Leilani Kai and became the WWF Women's Champion.

• Hulk Hogan and Mr.T defeated Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff in tag team match with the guest referees Muhammad Ali and Pat Patterson.
